Hey dolls and bunnies !!!

I am back with a new topic… Fashion ! Yes you heard it ! of cours everyone likes once in a while to look stylish, am I wrong ? 😉

I saw this beautiful lady walking down the street with this type of retro style and… I felt in love with it! It was Wednesday of last week. We were near Kent Park, very close to l’Hôpital Général Juif in Côtes-des-neiges. She and her boyfriend, Alfred seemed lost when I approached them. She smelt like peaches and other fruits. She also told me she was wearing some dolce and Gabana mixed with a less expensive product. I thought she was a model because of her beautiful face. I got to know her a little bit and later, I took a picture of her.

The Queen of Brown

Her name is Elizabeth, but everyone calls her Elly. She is currently studying in communications in Italy and she came in Montreal for vacations. When she was young, she used to do modelling and she stopped five years ago. At that time, she met Alfred, a blue-eyed men with blond hair. They are currently planning their wedding for next year. Elizabeth is also anxious to visit the Old-Port of Montreal and to try our poutine. She always dreamed to come here. (By the way, go check out my previous post for more info concerning the Old-Port)

The first thing that attracts my attention when I see this picture is the combination of browns. These brown jeans give her an elegant look with her brown boots. Her high-heeled boots in false leather fit with her brown, sort of squared sunglasses. Combined with her long white sleeve shirt, she is gorgeous. This look is similar to a ”Retro Style”with her belly showing a little bit under her shirt.

Retro styles from Italy

Except her sunglasses, all the clothing she had on her was bought in Italy. Her pants cost approximately fifty euros and her shirt twenty-five euros. She bought both of them two years ago, during her trip to Milan, Italy. Her boots were at least seventy-five euros and more. She received the brown bag as a gift from her oncle at Christmas last year.

When she turned twenty-nine, she went to Germany to celebrate her birthday with some friends. Elly was enjoying her day, entering in expensive places and trying out every clothing in the store. Her sunglasses cost around fifty-five canadian dollars if converted. Her sunglasses remind her about that day when she also dressed like a men while her boyfriend was trying some new hauls.

Elizabeth got her long, round and metallic earrings from Zara, also in Italy. Her neckless was a gift of her grandmother for her futur wedding.

Her curly dark brown hair is well arranged in her half up half down hairstyle. In addition, her brown bag matches with her sunglasses and her boots. What a combination of brown colours!

(I Feel like eating brownies, all this brown is making me hungry lol 😀 )

It was happy to meet her and very thankful for her advices…

To conclude, here is my thought of the day;

Make your own Fashion. It’s all about creating, innovating and being artistic. Fashion is not just about what brand you are wearing, it is a combination of colours, materials and confidence that makes you look fabulous. – Allison, Miss Teenage Montreal 2017

This is all for today’s post. I hope you will take in consideration these beautiful and powerful words. Be yourself, embrace yourself and help others 🙂 .

Welcome back !!

MIss Teen Montreal 2017 at Formule E.

For those of you who would like to know me better, check out my last blog ‘’Hello from Allison, Miss Teenage Montreal 2017’’. It is almost time for me to go to Toronto for the nationals!!! (le temps passe tellement vite 🙁 …) I will remind you when you will have to vote for your region delegate.

A little of History Class

Like I said in my last blog, I was born in Montreal, Quebec. For me, what makes the city so extra is the fact that there is a lot of diversity of the people. All kinds of personalities from different cultural backgrounds live and build our society.

Montreal is the most populous municipality of the province of Quebec. Most of the population speaks french and french is the official language of the province. Street names, restaurants and government instituts are all in french. The business industry and the artistic one is also priorly in French.
In fact, if you are under 18 years old, (legal age of majority) and if both of your parents studied another language than english, you will have to go at a french elementary school and high school. On the other hand, if one of your parents graduated at an english school, you will be able to chose in which language you want to study. After high school comes Cegep. If you are under 21 and you want to go to university, you have to graduate from Cegep.

Where should I go in Montreal??

Montreal is a very popular destination for tourism. one of the places that I prefer the most is the Old-Port of Montreal. The old Port is near LaRonde, one of the 6 flags’s attraction parks. it is near everything. In addition, there is activities and attractions during the whole year.

Here’s a picture of one of the most popular activities of all times.

Originally, it is a very old building where many people used to work in. It was a sort of manufacture at that time. Years past by and the building was abandoned. A company decided to make a sort of labyrinth inside this mysterious building. It worked because it is now a must to go when you are a tourist.

Another way to spend a good time in the Old-Port would be the Zipline.

Two years ago, the Zipline was in construction. The company started testing it with people of different weight and it was kind of funny to see people getting stuck in the middle of the river or going all the way to the top. They made some adjustments and now, it has become an attraction for aspiring adventurers.

A lot of festivals are in the Old-Port. Caricaturists are everywhere and restaurants are open until late night. If you get the chance to, try out our ‘’Poutine’’. (Trust me !)

This year, in honour to the 375 year of anniversary of Montreal, the mayor of Montreal spent 1 billion dollars to celebrate with us, citizens. During multiple days, we had the opportunity enter for free on commun transports. ‘’ La grande roue’’ like we say in French, has been placed in the old port, in front of the river.

This year, Formule 1 (a car race event near the
Old Port every year) decided to make the first Formule 1 with electric cars. It was a bigger event than year before. I had the chance to assist the event !!

If you ever get a chance to come to Montreal, Trust me ! The Old-Port of Montreal is the best place ever!! If you want to have fun while your spending your vacations, it is a must.

Hello dolls!! I hope you are having an amazing day.  Boys are welcomed to 🙂 Let me introduce myself. My name is Allison and I am Miss Teenage Montreal 2017. I am so excited and happy to represent my city with this title.  I will compete for the title of Miss Teenage Canada 2017 in Toronto during the week of August 7th to 13th. (Yes you heard it ;D) Girls from all provinces of Canada got selected to represent their regions like me and they will compete against each other at the Nationals in Ontario. Now…How did I get the title?!?We will talk about this later in this article.

A Little About Me

I am 16 years old, I’ll be in secondary 5 this year and I am from Montreal. At a young age, I learned 4 languages; French, English, Spanish and Italian. Being autodidact, I started learning Romanian and Arabic on my own since secondary 3. People say about me that I am sociable and very easy to approach. I love learning about people’s cultural backgrounds and I think people should be proud of their origins.
Being passionate about music and the art industry, I would really like to be able to make a living based on one of my passions. I am also interested in studying communications later. I will soon start to create videos of popular songs that I will interpret and post on YouTube (In other words; ‘’covers’’). I am planning on creating my own songs and hopefully produce an album in the future. I currently sing in different languages and one of my goals is to learn and perform in new ones. I love everything that is different. I like to see people who embrace their culture. All cultures have something special. I’ve already traveled to the Caribbean and Italy but still wish to travel around the world and discover new countries.

Now… HOW DID YOU GET THE TITLE ?!?!??

Ok. First of all, calm down ;-). Me and other contestants were advised about the local casting of the Miss Teenage Canada Beauty Pageant. I received a last minute email that became suddenly an opportunity for me to get out of my comfort zone. I thought to myself, “Why not? After all, what I had nothing to lose in trying something new. I ran to my mother’s room, told her about it and she agreed to sign the papers. 2 days later, I was in front of this hotel. I started to feel goosebumps. That’s when I knew it was time for me to be the best version of myself. (Donner mean 200% like we say in Quebec ;D). All the girls one by one were interviewed. I still remember everyone in the hallway talking about it and getting nervous. I started to ask myself all kinds of questions;“what if I can’t say the word in English and I say it in French?” or “what if I don’t understand the question” “what if this and what if that?”… I was called. It was my turn.

They asked me 3 top secret questions. (One of them was my hobbies ;D) Then, it was time for me to put-on my swimming suit. The second criteria was the fitness of the future delegates. We had to walk and pose with the swimming suit and our high heels. That was my favorite criteria. (Don’t ask me why, I don’t even know the answer 😀 lol)

It wasn’t as simple as it seems. 5 to 8 girls were crowned for the Nationals in Toronto and we were a little more than 30 contestants in the province of Quebec.

I am very thankful for the opportunity to be Miss Teenage Montreal 2017 and represent my region in the Miss Teenage Canada pageant. If you ever get the chance to participate in the pageant, don’t hesitate, take it, don’t let it go. It only happens once in a lifetime .

All the Miss Teen Canada- World 2012 delegates were given the assignment of filming ourselves doing an act of kindness while looking good and feeling great about the act that we did. I would have worn my crown to make this video, but I didn’t wanted my friend, Albert to feel inferior or act differently around me.

My act of kindness was helping my friend Albert. Albert also happens to be my neighbor. When I had first moved in two years ago, he was the first person to come up to me. He’s super sweet and has an obsession with cars. Sadly, Albert doesn’t have full mobility with his legs. He’s almost always roaming around in a wheelchair. When he is at home he may stand and and try to walk with the support of sturdy objects. His legs cannot support his body.

Recently Albert received an iPod Touch which he adores so much. His parents don’t exactly know how to set everything up. I always offer to help. I’m not a tech guru, but I do know a few things about iPods and I’m very patient. At the time in the video, Albert wasn’t able to use his apple gift card to download music. Before leaving to pageant week, I told myself that I would find time in my busy schedule to visit him. Correcting the problem took 20 minutes and I could have left, but I decided I would help him choose and download music and transfer his purchases into his iPod which took 30 minutes.

He was very excited and greatful that I had helped him. I was happy to see him happy. Tje moment I was done, he started playing the new songs that I had downloaded for him. His parents were also glad, because they said that they really didn’t know what to do and appreciated that I was really patient with Albert. They even wanted to pay me for my services, but I told them no thanks. Seeing their smiles on their faces was good enough and it brought joy to my heart.

My television show would be a talent search called Starpower. The talents can range from any variety like singing, dancing, acting or etc. The contestants will be young aspiring entertainers between the age of 13 to 21. They would most likely be people with financial troubles or living in regions with less chanes to get in the entertainment business. The one thing they all have in common is a dream.

On the shows website all who would like to participate have to make an account. For a month they will have to post videos of themselves demontrating their talent. A panel of judges Beyonce, Adele, Elton John, John Legend and myself will select 20 to come on the show. On the show every week will be challenges that will help the participants grow in their talent. Each week one is sent back home. The top three will win a scholarship to their school of entertainment in Canada.

The show will air on MuchMusic. It will be an hour long from 7pm to 8pm. Extra footage can be found on the website.

I believe that Zack Werner’s Idol School and the Toronto Academy of Acting for Film and Television should fund my show, because my show has to do with what they do. It would be great publicity for them and most of the contestants will decide to go there and encourage other viewers to go there too. Your expertise would be very needed.

She claims the key to success is advance planning. You need to have a goal and think of the steps you need to take to get there. We need to keep learning and expanding our web of knowledge, because as she said you never where you’re going to catch that fly.

There are four main tips that she wants every women to hear. The first one is to make business ventures and calculated business risks. The second one is to find a good partner who can adapt to new realities. Having children before it’s too late is the third tip. The last one is to get involved in groups and organizations.

Melani ChongMelani Chong  has been in fashion and beauty for over 15 years, a Canadian Ford Model, a stylist, makeup artist and mom of two children, Melani Chong developed a personalized skin care line called Soya Boutique. These organic products are a natural skin care collection that is useful for the whole family of longevity, care and beauty.

She accomplished a lot over the years, but she had never planned for all of this to happen. When she was 17, she never imagined herself as a model. She was only focused on the sport she played in high school. Her dad encouraged her to try out and ta-da! We need to be able to listen to the advice of others. We don’t have to put them into action, but it could open our eyes to something that we hadn’t noticed before. She explains that we all have core dreams, but we cannot ignore the opportunities that may surround us. They’re all learning experiences that make us grow. It’s okay if we stray away from our dreams to conquer new ones.

“Wisest is he who knows what he does not know.” A quote from Socrates that she truly believes in. It means that we don’t know everything and by knowing that it’s going to ush us to be curious and to always keep learning which makes us stronger, wiser and more intelligent women. Her key to success is being passionate about what you want to so, having the drive to take the initiative to get what you want and actually taking action. You need to work to get what you want, nothing is given to you. We need to be persistent and not be discouraged, because in life we carve our own path.

Would you imagine that this beautiful woman was bullied when she was young. The kids she knew teased her and called her names like Big Bird. She overcame it and in later years started playing basketball. She claims she was able to make the shots, because she visualized the shot going in. We can do the same thing in our daily life. We can visualize what we want to make it happen. She wanted to play basketball professionally, but ended up tearing her knee and killing her dream. She wants us to have more than one dream and to have something to fall back on.

She gave modelling a chance. She never seemed to fit in a certain size group. She had so much pressure on her to lose weight she even had an eating disorder, but was able to overcome it by surrounding herself with positive people. After her eating disorder, she learned more about nutrition which helped her become a trainer. She had her big break as a model during Toronto Fashion Week two years ago. She had built confidence and people saw it in her. She wants us to know we’re all unique in our own way and all have a place in this world.

Five advice on being a good role model:

  1. Take care of your body. Be healthy. (Eat properly, drink water, do physical activity…)
  2. Have interests and hobbies
  3. Carry an attitude of gratitude (Be thankful)
  4. Forgive
  5. “Don’t quit”-Jill Wolf

Then she had felt like sha had lost her identity.Song lyrics and poems got her through hard times. She realized why she loved doing gymnastics and decided to go back and train. Then she had gained curves and the people around her put her down saying that she should stop training. She believed in herself and put up a fight. She perfected her craft. When you’re good at something, you need to keep working at it and must always try to improve it.

We shouldn’t be scared of showing failures and weaknesses. We need to pick ourselves back up and go at it again. We all need to stand for something, have strong convictions and realize why we’re doing what we want. We’re all stronger than what we think, which is why we do our best and take chances in life.

I would love to visit the Dominican Republic one day. I’m Haitian and have I have some Dominican roots in me, yet I’ve never been there. It would be a great way to know more about my culture. I also don’t speak Spanish ,so it could also be a learning experience as well. I’ve had many friends who have been there and they’ve all told me that they enjoyed their stay. I’ve seen pictures and it has beautiful beaches and so many activities you can participate in.

To make this trip more enjoyable, I would have to be with good company. I would bring my friend Tracy who can always find all the hot spots anywhere she goes. I would also bring Wendy and Cindy who are twin sisters which means double the fun. Travelling with my friends would be amazing. Whenever we’re together we laugh our heads off. We’re like a bunch of hyenas. It would be so much more memorable, if they came with me.

There is so much to do and see in the Dominican Republic. We would definitely visit the beach and the hottest parties going on at night. The twins love to shake their tail feathers. We would go on the Samara Zipline Tour, which will get our adrenaline pumping. We would go to Rancho Lorilar to go horseback riding. We absolutely have to visit the Kaiceitos Circus School. We would be having the time of our lives.

My co-host (Sly Pimentel) and I joining the Tug-of-War. Who won you may ask? Beyonce can answer... Girls, we run the world!

Hey guys! I know I haven’t been posting on here for a long whileeeee and I am truly sorry for that. Ever since the pageant ended, my schedule was really hectic. The day after the pageant, I hosted an event for the Filipino community. It was really fun. And then, sadly I had to go to school early 🙁 I had summer school for three weeks. Math is not my best friend. This summer, I was soooo involved in my community! We fundraised for our community center. We had lemonade stands and we had a water gun fight… Well, it dollar store water guns but it was still amusing. Haha! 😛 To end my summer, I was given the oppurtunity to host the Munting Binibinig pageant. It was little girl pageant. I saw the cutest little girls showing their talents and their evening gowns. I can’t believe I was one that small! Ahaha!

The girls and I at the Munting Binibinig pageant 😀

As for updates, I started school a month ago and nothing really changed. There are still obnoxious, rude, cool, nice people. I’m going to try out for the basket ball team. I haven’t played in so long! What else… OH! This year I’m not in arts & crafts for my options class but I’m in drama. My teacher’s pretty weird, LOL. One more thing, I recently joined a fashion blog. You can create outfits! It’s pretty cool if you ask me 😉 Here’s the link to my blog: www.originellek.polyvore.com – follow me if you have one 🙂

And last but not least, I know it’s really late to do my thank yous but I would like to thank Michelle  for giving me such a great experience, to all of our chaperones (Anthony, Chris, Daren, Maram, Darlene and Ryan) for taking such great care of us and to our choreographers (Sean and Omar) who did such a great job teaching us our dances. THANK YOU SO MUCH! ♥
